Notcutts put retail sparkle into plant areas
When leading family-owned garden centre group Notcutts wanted to introduce more themed and eye-catching displays to their outside plant areas they chose to work with design specialists Stagecraft.
Over the last two seasons Stagecraft has taken Notcutts design ideas to create display units that provided impact across the company’s 19 retail outlets and results have had a significant impact on sales.
Central to the design theme was the need to introduce the visual impact of the high street into plant areas – making them much more appealing and ensuring products were eye-catching to the customer by simply displaying them at the right height.
The themed displays the company wanted to highlight , included the vegetable garden, grow-your-own, new products and plants for a purpose, with Stagecraft supplying a mixture of display tables, trellis panels, stepped display units, compost rails, tree bays and pot displays. Also, there was more continuity about the layout, with many of the displays and backdrops contrasting perfectly with the bright colours of the plants and new signage including larger point-of-sale information boards, thereby increasingly offering successful ‘linked sales’ opportunities throughout the displays.
