Stagecraft gets world-wide interest
Despite the current economic climate having an impact on attendance at the recent Spoga+ Gafa Show in Cologne, Germany, Stagecraft enjoyed considerable worldwide interest on their stand.
Stagecraft managing director Tom Davis said: “It was clear numbers were down and other stands reported slow business but we were extremely busy with positive enquires from Japan, the Far East and surprisingly from German garden centres.”
That interest could well have been generated by two recently completed projects in Italy, with one winning a major European award.
The theme of their stand was to encourage the rest of the world to embrace timber display products, while many international garden centres still rely on metal systems to display their plants and other related products. Stagecraft’s experience, built up over 25 years of trading, is that timber alternatives are more sustainable and attractive.
Tom Davis added: “In Britain, we have already embraced the softer, natural look of timber. We hope to persuade international buyers that there are no longevity issues with our timber plant tables. They are much kinder to our environment by reducing carbon and cheaper than aluminium tables.”
