Scotsdales Garden Centre

We have recently completed two NEW bespoke retail display design, manufacture and installation projects at Scotsdales Garden Centre in Great Shelford, Cambridge. The two projects include NEW Plant Care Department and NEW Houseplant Department.

Scotsdales are a family-run collection of garden centres in the Cambridge area offering the very best garden and lifestyle products, encompassing the ethos of “Enjoyment of all the good things in life”.

In this case study, we will first highlight the bespoke retail display shelving and display stands supplied for the Plant Care department. Below, we will examine the new Houseplant department.

Layout Design 

The layout design of the new retail area cleverly combines a classic grid layout featuring parallel aisles mixed with a freeform geometric centre offering six distinctive retail areas with a central corridor giving space and a decompression zone allowing customers to explore.

The layout design features a wide selection of retail gondola island displays at varying heights, along with modular wall unit shelving and wall-mounted MFC POS Panels throughout the perimeter of the store.

The floor plan layout design maximises display space without overwhelming the space. The wall-mounted category signage panels are visible throughout the store, encouraging customers to explore.

Scotsdales’ NEW Houseplant department features a wide range of custom houseplant displays from our specialist houseplant display range, display stands, along with bespoke and unique displays.

The department also features made-to-measure shelving that provides a display solution that hides/masks the structural pillars and provides a hot spot zone for displaying pots, planters, linked sale products and sundries.

The layout design combines a classic grid layout featuring parallel aisles with varying height displays with wall unit shelving and features hot spots around the perimeter. The layout allows customers to view and explore this unique and elegant houseplant department.
