Following their first major break into the market in 2016 Green Unit Limited far exceeded sales expectations meaning that business owners Jonathan Finnerty and Phil Clayden needed to seek a manufacturing partner to assist them in achieving manufacture capacity and offer support during busy periods. When Green Unit were chosen for a project for the NHS they contacted Stagecraft to assist with manufacturing the structure of their CNC fabricated pods. Stagecraft not only had the skill set and facilities required for the job but also shared the same company values – championing quality and an environmentally conscious ethos.
Green Unit are a market leading provider of stylish ARC™ modular eco-buildings that pride themselves on creating unique comfortable spaces with minimal carbon impact featuring green roofs that support biodiversity. They required Stagecraft to manufacture engineered structural frames for their pods using our modern CNC routing machine which cuts flat structural panelised timber and other flat sheet materials into specific shapes using a large computer controlled router and a cutting program generated from a CAD file. The parts or designs can be cut repeatedly all with the same accuracy that gives ARC its airtight structure and therefore its high levels of insulation.
As the team at Green Unit already had the cutting files pre-designed and tested they were able to simply pass these on to our CNC operator who programmed them into our machine ready for fabrication. The panels were cut into a variety of shapes to make up the intricate pod structure and sent out according to ARC build schedule.
As you can see from the images these modular pods look both stylish and unique with Green Unit finishing and decorating each pod to an exceptional standard. ARC can be found in a variety of sites – from schools to NHS spaces and holiday resorts.

As they were already equipped with tested CAD files the consultation stage was simple and we were able to offer a rapid cutting service. The job was split into stages to accommodate their strict build and installation schedule, each stage being time critical to ensure panels were on site when the build required, testing our ability to work to deadlines whilst still providing a top quality service. Seeing the timber structures being used as part of the NHS pod was great, the quality of the work Green Unit produce is second to none and we look forward to working with them on more projects in the near future.”
